Behind the Camera

Hello! My name is Jordan Phillips, and I am the creator of Daydream Films. I have a long history of being behind a camera. It first started when I was in Montana, working as a crewboy (a crewboy is basically camp maintenance).

During my time in Montana, I slowly fell in love with photography. However, I did not own a camera, so I used my phone's pro settings to have some sort of control over the lighting, etc. After a couple of years of taking pictures with my phone, I got a Nikon D3300 (a very basic crop-sensor camera).

After years of doing photography (I had my pictures featured in a student magazine at my college, at a local coffee shop, and even at an art show in Arizona) and making very few attempts at videography, I became a media manager at the same camp where I spent all those summers. I had to produce a video every week, and though it was challenging, I uncovered a passion for this new format that I didn't have much experience with.

Fast forward to now, I've completed my very first wedding video, and it has essentially reignited what was kindled in the mountains many years ago. This led to me starting the company Daydream Films!

As you may know, the name "Daydream Films" is inspired by my love for the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." In the movie, Walter Mitty struggles with mentally checking out and leads a very mundane life. However, due to circumstances, life forces him out of his comfort zone, and his daydreams become reality. I won't spoil the movie; I highly suggest checking it out! This film came out when I was in high school, and I carried the movie ticket in my wallet for many years. It is what inspired me to travel to Montana and many other places, and it continues to inspire this company today.

I am not sure what the future holds for this company, project, idea, or whatever you want to call it. But what I do know is that together we can create something truly special. I hope you give this a chance to see where it goes!
